Kelly Anne Freeman

Therapy for deep feelers, outsiders, and the quietly overwhelmed.

Hello, I’m Kelly

I’m a counsellor based in Greenwich, working with adults who feel things deeply, think intensely, and often carry more than they show.

If you’ve ever been told you’re “too sensitive”, “too emotional”, or “too much”, you’re not alone — and you’re not broken. You’re simply human in a world that doesn’t always make space for depth.

My work is warm, steady, and relational.

I don’t sit in silence and nod. I’m present with you. I listen closely.

I help you make sense of the parts of yourself you’ve had to hide or soften to get through life.

A space to slow down and come back to yourself

Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you or analysing you from a distance.

It’s a collaborative, human process — a steady space where you can explore your inner world at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

My role is to walk alongside you, not ahead of you.

I listen closely, I’m present with you, and I help you make sense of the parts of yourself you’ve had to hide or soften to get through life.

My therapeutic approach

I work relationally, which means the connection between us is central to the work.

You don’t have to perform or pretend.

You don’t need the perfect words.

You just get to be yourself — even the parts you’re unsure about.

My practice is:

Trauma‑informed

I understand how overwhelming experiences shape the nervous system, relationships, and self‑perception. We move gently, with care and attunement to your needs.

Relational

We explore how your past and present relationships influence how you feel, think, and move through the world — including how you relate to yourself.

Psychodynamic

We look at patterns, stories, and emotional threads that run beneath the surface, helping you understand why certain feelings or behaviours keep showing up.

Parts‑aware

Many people carry different “parts” of themselves — protective, wounded, overwhelmed, driven, exhausted. We explore these with compassion, not judgement.

Identity‑focused

For those who feel “different”, “too much”, or “out of place”, we explore identity, belonging, and the masks you’ve learned to wear.

What sessions feel like

Sessions with me are spacious and grounding. You can bring whatever is happening for you, whether it's the overwhelm, the numbness, the confusion, the grief, the anger , the exhaustion and the questions you can't quite articulate.

You can expect

  • warmth not judgement
  • curiosity, not assumptions
  • depth, not small talk
  • a steady presence, not emotional distance

Some sessions feel reflective.

Some feel emotional.

Some feel like gentle, slow untangling.

All of them are shaped around what you need in that moment.

Your pace matters

There is no rush here.

You don’t have to dive into your history before you’re ready.

You don’t have to share anything you don’t want to.

We move at a pace that feels safe for your nervous system, not one dictated by urgency or expectation.

Therapy is not a race — it’s a process of returning to yourself.

The first session

Your first session is a gentle conversation where we explore:

• what’s been happening for you

• what you’re hoping for

• what feels difficult right now

• whether we feel like a good fit

There’s no pressure to tell your whole story.

You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable.

This session is about connection, not interrogation.

Why I do this work

I became a therapist because I know how isolating it can feel to move through life with intensity, sensitivity, or a sense of being “different”.

I know what it’s like to carry emotions that don’t fit neatly into everyday conversation.

And I know how transformative it is to sit with someone who doesn’t flinch at your depth.

This work matters to me because people like you — the deep feelers, the outsiders, the ones who’ve survived more than they talk about — deserve a space where nothing about you is “too much”.

Who I work with

I support people who are:

• overwhelmed or burnt out

• neurodivergent (diagnosed or self‑identified)

• emotionally intense or highly sensitive

• masking to cope

• carrying trauma or long‑term stress

• feeling lost, stuck, or disconnected

• outsiders, creatives, and those who’ve never quite fit the mould

If you’ve spent years being the strong one, the responsible one, or the one who copes quietly, therapy can be a place to finally put some of that weight down.

Working with neurodivergence, sensitivity, and overwhelm

Many of my clients are neurodivergent, emotionally intense, or deeply sensitive.

If you struggle with:

• masking

• sensory overwhelm

• emotional overload

• burnout

• difficulty articulating feelings

• fear of being “too much”

…you’re not alone, and you’re not difficult.

We work with your nervous system, not against it.

You’re welcome to stim, fidget, pause, take breaks, or communicate in whatever way feels easiest.

A space where all parts of you are welcome

The shadowy parts.

The tired parts.

The angry parts.

The grieving parts.

The parts that feel lost or ashamed or too intense.

Nothing about you is “too much” here.

If you’re thinking about starting therapy

You don’t need certainty.

You don’t need a perfectly formed story.

You just need a sense that something in you is ready for support.

You’re welcome here — exactly as you are.

FAQ'S

What can I expect in my first counselling session?

Your first counselling session is a gentle introduction. We’ll explore what’s brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to change, and what you need to feel safe and supported. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we go at your pace.

How long are therapy sessions and how often should I come?

Sessions last 50 minutes, usually weekly. Many clients find weekly therapy helps build momentum, while others move to fortnightly once they feel more grounded. We’ll find a rhythm that suits your needs.

Do I need to know what to talk about in therapy?

No — you don’t need to arrive with a plan. Many people feel unsure where to start. I’ll guide the process and help you explore what feels most present. Therapy works even when you don’t have the words yet.

What if I get emotional during counselling?

It’s completely okay. Therapy is a safe space for emotions — including the ones you’ve been holding in for a long time. You won’t be judged or rushed. We’ll work gently with whatever comes up.

How will I know if therapy is helping?

You may notice small shifts first — feeling lighter, clearer, or more able to pause before reacting. Over time, you might see changes in how you relate to yourself and others. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy is supporting your growth.

Do you offer counselling for anxiety, trauma, or emotional overwhelm?

Yes — these are areas I specialise in. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, trauma responses, emotional intensity, or longstanding patterns that feel hard to shift, we’ll work together to help you feel more grounded and connected to yourself.

Is everything I say in therapy confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is central to counselling. The only exceptions are if there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or if required by law. If anything like that ever came up, we would talk about it together.

How do I pay for counselling sessions?

Sessions can paid by bank transfer on the day of your appointment. I’ll send you the details when we begin working together. Alternatively, I can invoice you via Square or you can pay in cash.

Can I stop therapy whenever I want?

Absolutely. You’re in control of your therapeutic journey. If you ever feel ready to pause or end, we’ll talk it through so you can leave feeling supported and complete.

Do you offer online counselling as well as in person sessions?

Yes — I offer in person counselling in Greenwich, South East London, and online therapy for clients across the UK. You’re welcome to choose whichever feels most comfortable and accessible
